The 2023 Subaru WRX is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles of the year. This performance-oriented sedan has undergone a complete redesign, with improvements to its powertrain, handling, and technology.

 

Powertrain

Under the hood of the 2023 WRX is a new 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that delivers 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This is a significant increase over the previous generation’s 2.0-liter engine, which produced 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The new engine is paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Handling

The 2023 WRX features Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which provides excellent traction and stability on any road surface. The suspension has been upgraded to a new double-wishbone rear suspension design, which improves handling and ride comfort. Additionally, the WRX has a new electric power steering system that provides a more direct and responsive feel.

Technology

The 2023 WRX comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. The WRX also features a new 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen display, which is the largest ever offered in a Subaru vehicle. The new infotainment system includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as optional navigation and a premium audio system.

Design

The 2023 WRX has a bold and aggressive design that is sure to turn heads. The front grille is larger and more prominent than previous models, and the hood scoop is now functional, allowing for better engine cooling. The WRX also has wider fenders and a lower stance, giving it a more muscular and athletic look.
