One Special Night, One Strong Little Hero, One Amazing Community

A Night That Showed the Strength of a Small Hero

Some of the strongest people you will ever meet are the smallest ones. On Wednesday night at Walser Subaru Burnsville, our team had the honor of helping create a moment of joy for Avery, a six-year-old who has shown incredible strength while battling leukemia.

Through our partnership with Make-A-Wish Minnesota, we were able to host a wish reveal that celebrated Avery’s courage, her bright spirit, and the support surrounding her family.

Her wish is coming true. In early March, Avery and her family will travel to Hawaii, where she will get to swim with dolphins, something she has dreamed about for a long time.

That night was about more than an announcement. It was about reminding a brave little girl how many people are cheering for her.

How the Night Came Together

Our team worked closely with Make-A-Wish to make sure the evening felt special from the moment Avery arrived.

We transformed our delivery bay into a space made just for her.

It included:

• Colorful decorations

• A bounce house

• Face painting

• Goodie bags

• Her favorite Panda Express meal

• A custom activity book created by our own designer, Sloan Shanahan

What is usually a place for handing over car keys became a place filled with laughter, excitement, and wide smiles.

For a few hours, nothing else mattered except celebrating Avery.

Why Moments Like This Matter

When a family is facing serious illness, life can start to revolve around appointments, treatments, and long days at the hospital.

That is why nights like this matter.

They give families space to breathe, kids a chance to just be kids, and everyone a reminder that they are not alone.

Here in Minnesota, where community runs deep, showing up for one another is part of who we are. This night was proof of that.

About Our Partnership With Make-A-Wish

We are proud to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation through its Minnesota chapter.

Make-A-Wish works with children facing critical illnesses to create experiences that bring hope, strength, and happiness during incredibly difficult times.

For Avery, that experience is swimming with dolphins in Hawaii.

For her family, it is a chance to create memories that will last forever.

Being able to support that mission is something we do not take lightly.

What Comes Next for Avery

In early March, Avery and her family will begin their journey to Hawaii.

She will meet dolphins.
She will explore new places.
She will experience something magical.

And she will carry with her the knowledge that an entire community believes in her.

We cannot wait to see photos and hear about every part of her adventure.

A Story That Reached Beyond One Night

What started as one special night for Avery has now been recognized on a national level. Walser Subaru was selected as a Subaru Love Promise Story winner by Subaru of America, an honor given to only two retailers across the country each month.

While the recognition means a lot, it’s a reflection of something bigger. The impact that can happen when a community comes together to support one another.
