Subaru Posts September Sales Record

Subaru announced today. Oct. 1 2010, that it posted best-ever September sales results. This also marks the best-ever September sales for the Subaru Outback and Forester.

According to an Official Subaru of America press release:
Subaru sold 21,432 units in September 2010 versus 14,593 units in September 2009, resulting in a 47-percent gain year-over-year.  Year-to-date sales of 193,614 units in 2010 versus 158,421 units sold in 2009, resulting in a 22-percent gain compared with the same period last year.

Sales for the Subaru Outback for the month of September were up 91-percent with 8,154 units…

Subaru FT-86 Coupe

Subaru has been pining for a coupe or sports car for years. Sure, they have Impreza WRX STI, but what the auto maker really looks forward to is a full on roadster to beef up against the competition. Well, it looks as though Subaru is hinting at just such a vehicle.

Car magazine Motor Trend reports Subaru's version of the Toyota FT-86 will be underpinned by a revised Legacy platform with an Impreza rear suspension. This should result in a "comfortable chassis that isn't too soft when the roads turn twisty."

Mt. Washington is one of the tallest peaks in the North East. How fast can you drive up it to get one of those lovely "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" stickers? If you're Travis Pastrana, that'll run you about 6 minutes and 20.47 seconds.

Subaru of America, Inc. posted its best July sales in history with 23,983 vehicles sold in July 2010 - a 10-percent increase over July 2009 sales of 21,839 units. Year-to-date sales totaled 149,943 units compared with 115,145 units sold through the same period last year - marking a 30-percent increase.
